Luang Prabang Palace Grounds
Luang Prabang is the former capital of Laos. It fronts the Mekong, and so does the old Royal Palace, which is really not so old. Built between 1904 and 1909, it's now a museum, with the palace furnishings approximately intact.

Off to the right of the gate lies a temple. From this angle, it looks timeless.
It's new, however, and the blue awning provides shelter for a painter at work on the bannister dragons.
